Certification Levels

Practitioner and Expert follow a progressive pathway, with the Expert level building on the Practitioner certification.
Leader is a standalone certification designed specifically for people leaders and managers. No previous certification is required.
Practitioner
Designed for professionals who lead or influence workplace well-being and performance as part of their role or as a dedicated area of practice. Develop the knowledge and practical skills to build healthy, high-performing workplace cultures.
Prerequisites (one of the following):
- Related university degree and 2+ years of experience
- Related post-graduate diploma and 3+ years of experience
- 4+ years of related professional experience
Leader
Designed for people leaders who want to strengthen their leadership impact using evidence-based practices. Learn practical strategies to build trust, improve engagement, and foster high-performing teams while incorporating concepts from Deborah Connors' A Better Place to Work framework.
Prerequisites: None.
Expert
Designed for experienced workplace well-being professionals and consultants who can demonstrate measurable organizational impact. Gain national recognition by validating your expertise and showcasing your professional achievements.
Prerequisites:
- Related master's degree and 5+ years of experience, or
- Related university degree and 8+ years of experience, or
- 10+ years of related professional experience
Plus:
- Written essay demonstrating relevant formal and/or informal experience, including measurable examples of impact
- Completion of the CWWP Practitioner Certification
Flexible Learning Options
Choose the learning experience that works best for you.
Cohort Option
- Structured learning with peer networking and accountability
- Bi-weekly reflection and networking sessions
- Approximately 5 to 10 hours of learning per unit
Upcoming Cohorts
- September 7 to December 4, 2026 (Practitioner & Leader)
- January 4 to March 30, 2027 (Practitioner & Leader)
Self-Paced Option
- Start anytime
- Complete your certification within six months
- Participate in bi-weekly reflection and networking sessions alongside fellow practitioners
Membership
Participants must be Wellness Works Canada members in good standing to pursue certification.
